IRS: Here’s where disaster relief applies, where it doesn’t

Employers impacted by the California wildfires, flooding and/or mudslides have been granted some tax relief from IRS.

Returns due between Dec. 4, 2017 and the end of April are now due April 30, 2018. This applies to:

  • corporate income tax returns
  • partnership and S corporation tax returns
  • Form 5500 for retirement plans and some health plans if the plan can’t get info because a service provider is in the disaster area, and
  • employment and certain excise tax.

Where you won’t get a break: W-2s, 1099s, and Forms 1094-C and 1095-C.

Info: IRS CA-2018-01, 1/17/18,
