Talk about one costly audit!
Vincent Burroughs of Fall Creek, Oregon, filed a lawsuit against Dora Abrahamson, a 38-year-old IRS agent, for allegedly coercing him into having sex with her in exchange for avoiding a tax audit.
It all began, according to Burroughs, in August of 2011 when Abrahamson called to inform him he’d be audited. She allegedly said that she knew who he was and he was lucky for that. Abrahamson then suggested they meet. Burroughs also claims that she sent him flirtatious text messages and pictures.
It all came to a head, Burroughs alleges, when she showed up on his doorstep in September 2011 “proactively attired” and demanding sex.
“She said that she could impose no penalty, or a 40 percent penalty, and that if he would give her what she wanted, she would give him what he needed,” the lawsuit said.
Burroughs is suing for unspecified damages and claims that her advances caused a rift in his relationship with his significant other, violated his right to privacy and caused emotional distress.
Burroughs didn’t initially report her advances “out of embarrassment and fear that she would cause substantial financial penalties to be imposed upon him.”
But hey, on the bright side, that audit is probably a moot point now, right?
