Companies that need a boost in tenant satisfaction should be looking at a simple fix.
Turns out that high-tech connectivity, such as broadband Internet, voice over internet protocol (VOIP), and streaming video and audio, tops the list.
Surveys by Comcast Corp. show office tenants consistently rate connectivity over features like cafeterias, on-site gyms and other building amenities, especially the more expensive ones.
They want it all
A State of Communications Services in Commercial Real Estate Survey found:
• 90% of building owners and managers rank connectivity behind only price, parking and location as selling points
• 61% say connectivity in their building gives them an advantage in the marketplace
• Half report that multiple service options increase their occupancy rate by 19% or higher, and
• One-third say high-tech communications is a topic that comes up in at least 75% of their negotiations with tenants.
