A new report shines a light on one aspect of your business that can boost your employees’ well-being and productivity:
Your office building.
The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) recently released the “Workplace Amenities Strategies” report which presents key trends in amenities.
IFMA President Tony Keane said the research helps underscore the value of the facility manager in protecting a company’s best investment — the employees.
So whether employee retention is a looming issue or you just want to make sure it never becomes one, it wouldn’t hurt to sit down with your facility manager to make sure the right workplace amenities are in place. It also can’t hurt to brainstorm with your facilities manager about adding more amenities.
The most common amenities
The report shows that companies typically will provide five-to-six building amenities for employees. The three most commonly provided amenities, according to the 848 respondents. are:
- Breakrooms (93%)
- Multi-purpose space (72%), and
- On-site fitness area (54%).
