It’s no surprise that just about everyone hates getting those unexpected, out-of-the-blue sales calls. But chances are the person on the other end of the line hates making that call just as much.
A recent survey by Sandler Training presented respondents with five unpleasant options and asked which one was the most unappealing.
An impressive 23% of respondents said making cold calls was the worst option. Cold calling beat out giving up sex for a month (18%), getting picked as a surprise guest on a reality TV show (15%), and speaking in front of an audience (13%).
At 31%, getting a root canal was the only option that respondents deemed worse than cold calling.
The survey also gauged which type of salespeople were perceived as the “least trustworthy.” Car salespeople were ranked the least trustworthy, followed by financial services salespeople. The most trustworthy sales workers according to the survey: retail salespeople.
