Brace yourself (and your budget) for more bad news on the healthcare front: double-digit increases next year — no matter what type of plan your company has.
At least the latest estimates from Buck Consultants give companies a sense of what’s coming their way — and a little more time to plan accordingly.
Here’s an early look at what firms should expect to see in 2010 by plan type:
Preferred Provider Organization (PPO): an 11% jump
Point-of-Service (POS): an expected hike of 10.2%
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO): an increase of 11%, and
High Deductible Consumer-Driven (HRAs, HSAs, etc.): up another 10.4%.
But the good news doesn’t stop there. When it comes to employees prescription drugs, companies’ should plan on spending an additional 10.8% next year.
