Even with the high unemployment rate, many employers are struggling to find new blood, particularly in certain positions. Has Finance been struggling to fill key positions?
Here are the top 10 hardest jobs to fill for U.S. businesses:
- Skilled trades
- IT staff
- Sales representatives
- Accounting & Finance Staff
- Machinists/Machine Operators, and
This list is based on the seventh-annual Talent Shortage Survey, by the ManpowerGroup. The survey gathered responses from more than 1,300 U.S. employers.
Overall, 49% of U.S. employers said they are having trouble filling “mission-critical positions,” which is a slight improvement from the 52% who reported having trouble last year.
Why are companies having trouble in this area? The study found that the top reasons were:
- lack of available candidates
- applicants looking for more pay, and
- lack of experience.
