Many employers are penalizing workers for unhealthy behaviors. But this company is going even further.
Turkish Airlines has issued the following ultimatum to 28 of its flight attendants: lose weight or you’ll be reassigned.
The flight attendants have been placed on unpaid leave and given six months to drop the weight. In a statement which was published in the Haberturk daily newspaper, Turkish Airlines said all of the workers had been warned in the past that they needed to lose weight.
The statement also said: “Weight and height are important factors at all airlines. These criteria are important both in terms of appearance and the ability to move about.”
