Looking for ways to inspire your marketing department to think outside-of-the-box? Direct them to this company’s latest campaign. The firm is speaking directly to its end-users … even though those end-users aren’t human.
Nestle Purina created a series of commercials in Germany and Austria for its Beneful dog food that features a number of high-pitched squeaks and tones that can only dogs can hear.
You can view the commercial here.
According to Beneful’s Brand Manager Anna Rabanus, “We wanted to create a TV commercial that our four-legged friends can enjoy and listen to, but also allow the owner and dog to experience it together.”
Will dogs’ interest in the commercials translate directly into increased sales? Advertising experts seem to be divided on this.
However, this isn’t the first time the company appealed directly to canines. The company also had a successful advertising campaign in which dogs were able to sniff the scent of Beneful from special posters.
