From supplying applicants with fake references to posing as a “doctor” to help current employees lie about being sick, this company offers an array of deception services.
The company we’re referring to is Paladin Deception Services, and it specializes in creating “almost any fictitious scenario that you require.”
And the worst part about Paladin: It’s very affordable.
The company creates its fictitious scenarios for just $54.
Paladin’s unique service was first reported in a St. Paul Pioneer Press article where company founder Tim Green offered some insight into the interworkings of the deception firm.
Deceiving companies since 2009
In the article, Green explained that the bulk of Paladin’s business comes from providing fake references for job seekers with questionable pasts, but the company could do just about anything.
And it appears to be quite successful, too. According to Green, Paladin has been around since 2009 and has around 250 active clients.
So what do customers get for the $54 fee? For that amount, Paladin’s employees will field an unlimited number of incoming calls for the phone number it establishes for each deception, and it’ll set up an email address and dedicated voice-mail box. Customer’s can keep the deception going for another $20 per month, or they can add a second phone number for $20.
Of course, even Paladin has its limits. Green says the company won’t make any false statement or provide fictitious references to law enforcement agencies, courts, banks, medical institutions, government agencies or fire departments.
Plus, customers can’t get falsified documentation from Paladin.
