You can bet Finance departments everywhere had their hands full lately. U.S. employers had to deal with 184 tax changes last quarter alone.
What’s more, more than three quarters (86%) of those changes were either tax increases or new taxes.
Multinational companies saw a total of 270 tax changes here and abroad in the second quarter of 2011.
These findings come from the most recent recent ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Report by Thomson Reuters.
The Thomas Reuters report also broke down the types of tax changes affecting businesses. In the U.S.:
- 111 tax increases
- 48 new taxes, and
- 25 tax decreases.
