What kind of office furniture are most businesses buying these days?
Pre-owned, believe it or not.
In the first quarter of 2012, pre-owned furniture dealers saw a 10% increase in sales. That comes on the heels of a big upswing in used furniture sales in 2011.
With so many businesses going under from 2008-10, there was a big spike in relatively new, quality furniture. But that trend hasn’t slowed down.
Bottom line: Why pay more for new when you can pay less for almost-new?
Go with a dealer that does all the heavy lifting
If your site could use an upgrade and pre-owned sounds like an option, insist on a vendor that handles:
- furniture design, and
- project-management, beginning to end.
Many pre-owned dealers will also give you renderings so you know how furniture will look in your office. After you’ve settled on the layout, have the dealer complete the installation.
