Imagine walking into a massive arena, being handed a pillow and then told to write the name of a boss, teacher or anyone or anything else that has been causing you stress on it. Then imagine using your pillow as a weapon in a giant pillow fight.
That’s a reality in Shanghai, China, where stressed office workers and burnt-out students get two nights of relief from their daily pressures in the form of an organized pillow war.
December marked the fifth-consecutive year the stress-relief event was held. Eleven Wang, the event’s founder, explained the inspiration behind the pillow fight — in a recent story on Reuters — using these words: “Nowadays there are many white collar workers and students that are facing huge pressures at work and at school, so we hope to give them an outlet to release their stress …”
