This group of workers is willing to make some major sacrifices for a better work/life balance.
Despite close to two years of virtually flat raises, more than one-third (35%) of tech workers said they’d take a pay cut of up to 10% in exchange for a full-time telecommuting position. Another way of looking at those findings: Tech workers are willing to give up $7,800 on average to work from home.
The numbers are based on a recent study by the tech and engineering website Dice.com.
The study also shows there’s a great opportunity for many employers to give tech workers what they want and possibly cut costs in the process. Reason: Only 2% of the respondents in the study have ever been offered the chance to work from home.
Readers, would you be willing to take a pay cut to work from home more often — or on a full-time basis? Let us know in the Comments section.
